Narkanda

Narkanda is a hill station in the Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh, 2,708 meters above sea level and 60 km from Shimla. It is surrounded by peaceful green valleys and serene landscapes. It is one of the highest hill stations in Himachal Pradesh. Unlike other hill stations, Narkanda is untouched by heavy crowds.

Hatu Peak

Hatu Peak is the highest point in Narkanda. It is 3400 meters above sea level. This peak is surrounded by lush greenery and serene Himalayas. The ancient Hatu Mata Temple is located on the peak, which holds religious significance for the locals. Hatu temple is dedicated to Mandodori. She was the wife of Ravana.

You can take a cab from Narkanda to Hatu Peak, its round trip costs you around ₹800-₹1,000. 

Bus 

Although local buses are available, they do not take you directly to the hatu peak.

Both beginners and experienced people can try this adventurous activity. It is better to visit in winter, during the time of snowfall.

You can hire a cab that will cost you around ₹200-₹500 for a round trip.

Tanni Jubbar Lake

Tanni Jubbar Lake is located 10 km from Narkanda. It is also called Nag Jubbar. This lake is surrounded by dense forest and it is believed that Tanni Jubbar Lake and the surrounding forest are protected by naag devta (lord of snakes).
