Have you been dreaming about a holy experience at Mount Kailash? It's finally here! After a long time, five years in fact, the most awaited Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is starting all over again! Beginning on June 30, this annual pilgrimage to the sacred site will once again open its doors to pilgrims and adventure seeking devotees who want to experience this amazing journey both from across the country and the world.
This super-famous yatra was halted in 2019 due to COVID-19 and travel bans, since then lakhs of tourists in waiting have been wishing to resume the holy journey up to Mount Kailash and holy Lake Mansarovar. Now, with the doors opening, and the excitement is real.
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is more than a mere journey. It is a significant spiritual experience that changes lives. Mount Kailash is in the isolated Himalayan area of Tibet and is believed to be the home of Lord Shiva. The beautiful Lake Mansarovar is also located there, believed to be created by Lord Brahma with divine powers.
Pilgrims believe parikrama (circumambulation) of Mount Kailash will cleanse a person's sins and make them spiritually awakened. Bathing in Mansarovar Lake is considered to purify the soul.
The Government of India has clarified that the yatra will resume through the route via the Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand. It is a combination of road and trek and is administered by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
There are also efforts underway to explore an alternate route through the Nathula Pass in Sikkim, but for now, the only option for 2025 is the Lipulekh route.

Anyone who is physically fit and between 18 and 70 years of age is welcome. All you need is a current Indian passport and a comprehensive medical examination. High altitudes (over 19,000 ft!) can provide an arduous trek, as such, thorough preparation is necessary. If you always wanted to do this yatra, this could be your year! Keep in mind, the slots are limited, and the demand is high.
To start your Kailash Mansarovar journey via the Lipulekh Pass, you first need to come to Dharchula in Uttarakhand, the official starting point of the yatra.
From Delhi, the best way to reach Dharchula Dharchula is by road. Many people traveling to in a group to Kailash Mansarovar via Lipulekh Pass op for Tempo Traveler Rental Delhi.
